Diana and her husband have two children at home and another one already on his own. Since then, she's been in small animal practice with a special interest in surgery and internal medicine. After three years, she went to the Animal Emergency & Specialty clinic for the next five years. After graduation, she went back to the small animal practice where she worked in high school located in Indianapolis, Indiana. While in school, she worked in Purdue's small animal practice. She shares her home with a clowder of cats, two leopard geckos named Yoshi and Snidget, and a giant mischief of rats (which are her favorite exotic pet to own)!ĭiana Redman, AAS, RVT received her Vet Tech degree from Purdue University in 1993. She has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and spent nearly 7 years in an exotic-only practice before returning to VTI as a member of the faculty. They also welcomed a new daughter in April of 2020! In her spare time, Haley loves snuggling with her pets and baby, baking, camping, and traveling.Ĭaitlyn Nemer, AAS, BS, RVT graduated from Vet Tech Institute at IBC in 2011 as well as Ball State University. She and her husband, Nick, have three pets: two dogs named Sadie and Goliath and a cat named Roshi. Her special interests include radiology, animal nutrition, and dentistry. Haley Long, AAS, RVT is a 2012 Harrison College-Northwest graduate in Veterinary Technology and has worked in small animal general practice for the last 8 years. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two human children, family and numerous animals including dogs, cats, birds, and small exotics. She has a passion for client education, as she knows how rewarding it can be to help people understand how to best care for their pets. Before joining the VTI faculty, she worked for 12 years in small animal practice. Megan Lewis, AAS, RVT is a graduate of Harrison College's veterinary technology program. Julie is a board member of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, which is dedicated to preventing the extinction of these beautiful animals. She lives on a farm with Holstein steers, chickens, several cats, two dogs, and one very spoiled pot belly pig. Julie is married with three stepchildren, one son, one grandson and another on the way. She has worked in a variety of places such as Oklahoma State University as the Head Small Animal Medicine Tech teaching veterinary students and running the small animal medicine section the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Milwaukee doing emergency and critical care private practice and finally teaching veterinary technology. After working in a small veterinary clinic, she was encouraged to attend Purdue, and she graduated with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology. Julie Hix, AAS, RVT Julie graduated with a BA in Psychology from Butler University. In her free time, she enjoys singing in the praise band at her church. She is a wife and mother of 2 boys as well as a Cocker Spaniel (Jules), 3 cats (Goldie, Izzy, Lizzy), 2 Guinea Pigs (Mango, Vader), a Kenyan Sand Boa (Titus), and a Leopard Gecko (Leo). After a short time of instructing, she became the Program Manager of the Vet Tech Institute at IBC in 2017. She worked as a small animal general practitioner on the south side of Indianapolis for 17 years before joining the faculty at International Business College as a veterinary technology instructor in 2016. Joy Ritz, BS, DVM earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture (emphasis in Animal Science) as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University.
